Consequently, we often need to contact banks, investment firms, government agencies, and even former employers to gather comprehensive information. It’s like piecing together a puzzle; each piece of information helps us build a clearer picture of the estate’s overall value.

California Probate Code section 8700 mandates that executors or administrators file a detailed inventory and appraisal of all estate assets with the court within a specified timeframe. Absolutely. Sometimes we encounter missing or incomplete documentation, making it difficult to track down all assets. It took some diligent research and communication with financial institutions to uncover those hidden assets.
